Creations from the Dream Factory
Renowned as a purveyor of hip, Italian design company Alessi is known for its elegant utensils.
Alessi combines the slickness of mechanized production with nine generations of craftsman traditions. Born in Italy’s Strona Valley, Alessi fulfills the needs and dreams of design-conscious home owners. Alessi products are eccentric and stylish, cultured but playful, ironic yet refined.
Since 1921, Alessi has commissioned the work of the world’s best designers. Ettore Sottsass, Richard Sapper, Achille Castiglioni, Michael Graves, Aldo Rossi, and Philippe Starck have created some of Alessi’s most functional, yet fanciful works.
The end of the 1990s marked yet another Alessi's evolution. Alessi started the "Dream factory", an applied arts research laboratory. There, the Alessi family works with leading talents of international design successfully marrying poetry, culture, vision, sincerity, modernity and design excellence.
In 2006, the company reclassified their products under three lines: A di Alessi (top design, pop prices), Alessi (the main collection) and Officina Alessi (experimental and limited edition pieces).
